But... a tutorial? From you? On how you work? COR. Of course I will read and enjoy. There is always something about your work that makes me wonder in the back of my mind how you put it all together. I bet the tutorial itself was some work to put together.
Smudging the fur with the lineart is something I myself have never seen in a tutorial--and I have never picked it out in any of your work, so seeing that it mighty interesting. I have a grudge against the smudge tool, myself... but it just goes to show what you're comfortable in working with, and how you've made it very effective!
I admire your use of minimal layers in regards to colouring, too. I seem to spam layers when it comes to that kind of stuff. I tend to be impulsive and end up with a few layers of very slight colour overlays in tiny areas and... general junk.
The part in the end about merging it all together and then finishing it up with the levels, colours and contrast--like you said to me how it's just a part of the work rather than... say... cheating, makes me feel a whole lot better, too. After all, it's a creation of your own, and you have a right to mess and edit with it in any way you want~!
As for the piece itself, it's lovely. I haven't watched Wolf's Rain, but what I know of it, it seems that it's a scene that you wouldn't often see. Peace~
Great referencing and a lovely mood, dear~
